Flightless Bird

August 19, 2011

A black shaking; the ground clawing
for your dead brothers;
the final grand mal shiver
as the earth becomes your home.
The cackle-caw of
wing flutter
dying throes – glaze of lidless sight, gasp,
and it’s done.
