Creation

A hundred million years ago

you imagined my heart

then whispered, dreamed,

and breathed passion into me

that second, conceived,

torn into a thousand galaxies.

When you spoke to nothingness

and caused it to be.

Oh, the dark, asunder

breaking way into formless light!

The worlds, your thunder,

when you breathed it all to life!

Four million heavens

Each star blooming,

like a new flower of fire

as you painted the heavens

and said that they were good.

And the depths;

all deep shades of emerald and blue

are swarming as

nearer to me, among the clouds

the winds took shape and flight

as you spoke

and brought the world into life.

Then, finally

you poured your heartbeat

in the dust

and formed my kind after

a hundred million years ago

when you imagined my heart

then whispered, dreamed,

and breathed passion into me.
